Review - Messages From Henry by Rebecca Scarberry @Scarberryfields

Messages From Henry

The author offers this synopsis:

Henry is special.
When Evelyn Bury becomes the unlikely victim in a random kidnapping, Henry flies to the rescue.
In the process, Henry enlists Tammy, Evelyn’s next-door neighbor and the lackadaisical authorities to assist in Evelyn’s escape.
Henry hurdles many obstacles to the point of endangering his own life in order to save his dear master.
You will find yourself routing Henry on, cheering his progress and praying for Evelyn’s safe return.
Read MESSAGES FROM HENRY and lose yourself in a fun, fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat suspense thriller written for all ages, twelve and above.
But, please…remember one small, feathery detail…
Henry…is a homing pigeon!

A homing pigeon as a hero? I know it sounds strange but true. Henry puts in as much passion into saving his master, Evelyn, as any action hero I know. This story reads very much like an action movie. The use of present tense makes the action and suspense more real. It's like being in the story and watching it unfold before you in real time.
I like the concept of using the pigeon as apart of the story and creating this cat and mouse game. If there was an element that didn't appeal to me was that the chase was too long. The police would eventually arrive on the scene just a split second too late again and again and again.
I liked the detective work of the main character and her observations bring about a great ending to the chase. Henry is a great hero and you will cheer him on through the whole story.
Messages From Henry is a short story that I recommend to read.
